Amarillo Heart Group utilizes the most advanced equipment available in performing non-invasive studies. This state-of-the-art technology includes a wide range of ultrasound services which enables us to examine the heart and important blood vessels of the body. In our on-site Nuclear Cardiology Department, we can evaluate the flow of blood to the heart walls. This tells us a great deal about the effects of hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) - still the number one cause of death in this country. For patients who are unable to exercise on a treadmill, we can still utilize these sophisticated nuclear or ultrasound studies by evaluating the effects of intravenous medications which simulate exercise while the patient lies on his/her back. Patients can complete all of the non-invasive testing needed in the office without having to go to the hospital outpatient department.
