Amarillo Botanical Gardens, the horticultural center for the
High Plains Region, is dedicated to the art, knowledge, enjoyment and
science of horticulture and provides educational programs for all
populations. A comprehensive horticulture curriculum is offered for the
health care worker who wishes to develop interactive (hands-on) gardens in
his own respective facility for his patients and their families or for
those interested in establishing an adaptive gardening program.
Creative learning opportunities are developed for groups according to age
and special needs (by appointment). Gardens are available for visitation
year-round, and indoor temporary exhibitions are open to the public from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday,
closed certain holidays and during exhibition changes. Other lectures,
workshops, demonstrations, etc., are scheduled and promoted as
appropriate. A 1,600 volume library is provided.
