Apart from its significant contribution to the physical and mental health of our area’s population, Harrington Regional Medical Center (HRMC) has also made a notable contribution to our region's economic health. In 1999, HRMC added more than $953 million to the area economy. This contribution came from the activities of 28 institutions, who, through their membership in HRMC, have formed an alliance, working together to provide accessible, high-quality health care to the more than one million residents of the Texas Panhandle and four neighboring states.
The 2000 Economic Impact Report is the sixth in a series of annual research studies designed to quantify the considerable economic impact of Harrington Regional Medical Center member institutions on the region they serve.
The following is a summary of the data for fiscal 1999.
